Kerry Hyslop Joins Live Q&A on IBD in the Workplace

Our HR Director, Kerry Hyslop, recently took part in a Facebook Live Q&A with The Catherine McEwan Foundation on IBD in the workplace.

Speaking alongside IBD patient, Caroline Brocklehurst, Graham Mitchell of Clyde & Co. and Paediatric Gastroenterologist, Prof. Richard Russell, Kerry gave perspective from an HR point of view, discussing what employers can do to accommodate those employees living with the condition.

IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) is the umbrella term for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Around the world 5 million people are affected with IBD. In the UK it is estimated that 300,000 people suffer from IBD, which roughly equates to 1 in every 210 people.

Since 2003, The Catherine McEwan Foundation has been helping people living with Crohn’s and Colitis access better treatment, better care and live better lives. They change the lives of children, young people and adults with IBD by funding much-needed improvements in healthcare across Scotland, including investing in pioneering research into the condition.
